Yes.

Keep a read-only file of the picture elements you need. When working on a drawing, open it as well. Then you can copy & paste all you need.

It would be nice if we could keep a library of simple objects that could be quickly added via a menu or bar. In fact, it would be even cooler if this was just a set of svg files in a directory that you could easily add to (or some such).
