I'm using 0.47 on OS X (10.5.8/Leopard). I've run into a problems trying to export PDFs. Here is a test file I'm working with:

If I save as a pdf with the following options:
- Convert texts to paths (checked)
- Rasterized filter effects (unchecked)
- Resolution for rasterization (600 dpi)
- Export area is drawing (unchecked)
- Export area is page (checked)
I produce the following pdf output:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1901170/Inkscape%20Tests/test-not_rasterized.pdf
which looks right, but eliminates the blurred elements.
Next I try to save using the following options in order to preserve the blurred portion of the figure: If I save as a pdf with the following options:

Basically checking "rasterize filtered effects". Some of the blurred elements look fine, but several components of the drawing disappear completely.
Can anyone point out what I'm doing wrong here?
I get the same results with Inkscape 0.47 (and with Inkscape built from current bzr src) on OS X 10.5.8. Interestingly when using the default dpi = 90, it exports both the blurs and all elements in the drawing, the resulting PDF looks the same as the SVG rendered in Inkscape (at first sight, I didn't delve into the details ;-)
Looks like a bug to me :(
