[Inkscape-user] snap to everything

Hello all,

I'm trying to daw some technical diagrams with Inkscape. It would be an excellent tool, but the snap feature is driving me mad. I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature - if I draw a line, then move it, it will snap to grid on the left, centre and right of the line (or top-middle-bottom). It takes away the whole point of snapping, and I end up with a lot of wonky diagrams!

Can I turn this off, so that lines will only snap at their centre?
