[Inkscape-user] Importing .pdfs?

Has anyone successfully imported a .pdf file with Inkscape on Linux? I found some documentation about Windows (http://wiki.inkscape.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?GettingExtensionsWorking) but nothing regarding Linux.
