We only use Inkscape to create a 1/8 square box....That is it, nothing more. But we need this box to come in at the same size every single time. If I could have a presized box already made and just pick "Create box" and know it would always come in the right size that would be great.

Yes.
Keep a read-only file of the picture elements you need. When working on a drawing, open it as well. Then you can copy & paste all you need.
