[Inkscape-user] Kernel Panic - Recovery File would be useful

Just experienced a kernel panic on Mac OS X, not in any way related to Inkscape as far as I know. However, I lost an Inkscape editing session, and I recollect from previous actual Inkscape crashes that there is some recovery file. Can't identify where this is stored.

Can anyone confirm whether such a file exists? Where can I find it?

If such a file doesn't exist I'd like to suggest auto-recovery as a feature. Perhaps on restart, Inkscape could check to see if there's a record of an unclosed file, and notify the user where the corresponding backup file is stored.
