[Inkscape-user] not responding, well almost

Hi, Just popup inkscape to do a little drawing and something strange is happening. I can select tools, colors any menu and option but I can't do anything to the canvas.

If i select the pen tool I can make a stroke. or a square using the square tool. Nothing.

I check that the layers is not locked and tried opening existing images and it's the same the image is dislayed everything looks fine but I can't do anything on the Canvas.

Any idea?

Inkscape 0.47 r22583, built Apr 4 2010 Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
