[Inkscape-user] Unicode mode

Hello -

I am new to Inkscape.

I am trying to enter a Unicode character into text. While text is selected I press ctrl-U but this terminates the text rather than going into Unicode mode. Has the function of ctrl-U been changed in current versions of Inkscape?
