At first thanks for so many answeres, this is great, and on many other mailing lists not usal.
The other is to set the background color in the Document Preferences.
I chose this way.
You may want to look at POV-Ray for the 3D view.
I installed official and common. As it seems it is a program for console (like image magick). is any GUI for this available. on the mandrake server is also -mpich and -pvm. i mean if have a drawing in 2D, and i want to convert it into 3D like isometric, is it possible with this?
You can do this. Import the scanned image as a bitmap via File->Import. In Inkscape 0.40 there is also a command to convert bitmaps into vector
Do you know, when o.40 is available for mandrake rpm? The latest i have found on rpmseek is 0.39. When i installed this rpm it was installed over an older version of inkscape (witch i got from 'urpmi') I have never known this feature from other programs. Witch version is in SuSE 9.2?
graphics, although it may not work very well for CAD drawings unless the scan is extremely good, but it could be easier than redrawing from scratch.
In xfig and qcad it is not possible to import a png or other file, i guess. I asked for an open source CAD program, in witch this is possible. Maybe Varicad?
