Sorry guys! But tolerance setting of the Pencil tool brings it nowhere near SodiPodi's quality! I swear to God!
:)
I'm not in any software's "camp" but I use InkScape for features it does best and others for what they do best. Just that I want the same kind of smooth mouse movement tracking (that Sodipodi does have) in InkScape so that I can use a single package instead of having to shuttle myself between the two when I have to use the Pencil tool.
Looks like SodiPodi tracks aspect ratio of the mouse's x andy movements better and it has its own mouse movement tracker code instead of relying on the system's mouse settings.
Why don't you guys just look up its code?
Thanks and regards
Asif p.s. Looks like some guys out there are using my system as a gateway to spam! I just got a rejected e-mail from InkScape for a post that I did _not_ send!

Mental, I don't know which one to believe -- you or my memory, because I remember that bulia fixed it about half a year ago by changing something in the code and adding a "Smoothness" setting in "Preferences - Instruments - Pencil" ;-)
I didn't add it, I just exposed what already existed in the code, and it's not working very well. I did not touch the algorithm then, but Peter Moulder later did, and he made it much better.
Here's a comparison with screenshots:

Personally I'm in the Inkscape camp. Sodipodi's freehand is unusable for me. YMMV.
