what file, and where would it be located, do i need to edit to change the default page size and orientation on win xp? if there is a link to the answer someone could send me i would be appreciative.

Hi Dwain, the file you are looking for is located at C:/Program files/Inkscape/share/templates/default.svg You can modify and save this file and next time you run Inkscape or open a new file, this template will be used.
