I'm certainly no expert on mailing lists, but I think that there is a way for the list administrator to configure the mailer so that it does not send these messages to the entire group. This is the only mailing list I've ever seen that sends all this garbage out.
 
We can all badmouth this email client and that email client, but it's a waste of time doing so. You are never going to convince many people to use other software or another operating system. Just not going to happen. This is just my opinion and you may not agree.
