I am trying to print on anything but 8.5" x 11" in portrait mode. If I set the document to 11 x 17 " and tell the print driver the printer has 11 x 17" paper it prints a cropped 8.5" x 11" like Inkscape just won't believe that the paper it has to print on is as big as I tell it it is. It is even cropped in print preview. Too bad cause looks like a great program but if it won't print?

I know I saw someone else post something about this. I cannot seem to print in landscape mode in Inkscape 0.46. I used a slackbuild from Slackbuilds.org on Slackware 12.1 (source compile). I tried the workaround posted on the site below, but lpr apparently expects a printer directly hooked to a parallel port and mine is a network printer.
https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/219640
I also tried printing to a file and then to the printer (an HP LaserJet 6MP hooked to an HP JetDirect 300x Network printing interface), I still got portrait mode.
I suppose I can do everything in Landscape, then group the whole works and rotate it 90 degrees, but I am wondering if someone has found a workaround for this.
