[Inkscape-user] Drawing blury with the Calligraphic Pen Tool

The Book Of Inkscape talks about drawing blury strokes with the Caligraphic Pen Tool. But how do you do that in a convenient way?

I can't get it to remember the blur when drawing several strokes, so I end up having to set each stroke's blur manually. Is there a better way?
