Also very useful is the "Radius randomize" extension. I recently used it to get a very realistic "stamp on paper". Use it with "Add nodes" extension twice, for example:

- Add nodes 10px, radius randomize 2px - Add nodes 1px, radius randomize 0.3px

Simplify according to taste, and add some small blotches and dots with calligraphic. Looks very nice and is completely vector.
