I am looking for documentation or tool to repeat a small SVG image to
create a background pattern.

For example if my image is "X". I want it repeated like:

   X   X   X   X   X   X

 X   X   X   X   X   X

   X   X   X   X   X   X

 X   X   X   X   X   X

   X   X   X   X   X   X

 X   X   X   X   X   X

(Or something similar to that. Hopefully your email client doesn't break
my nice formatting above.)

I don't want to do this manually (of copying and aligning each image). And
I need the final version to keep the "scalable" properties just in case I
need to resize.
