I don't use the eraser but just tried it and yes, I get the same. thin red line where ever the mouse goes, without a button being pressed.
also set the size to 100 and it does not erase, it just puts a thick red line across the item it should delete.

Functionality still is lacking for me though
- eraser leaves a thin red trail where ever it goes - even with no
button pressed 2. in vector mode it sometimes works - I have to draw a little red line right in the middle of the path I want to erase, or across it - 'touching' has no effect 3. in raster mode it leaves a big (depending on width setting) red blob on the 'erased' area
Anyone else having problems with this in OS X (or other OS)
