[Inkscape-user] Attaching path nodes to objects

Hi,

I'm an Inkscape newbie;

Is there any way I can attach a path node to something else (say, a shape)? so that, when the shape is moved, that node of the path moves with it, but the rest of the path stays put (so the shape of the path will change)?
