While firefox does let you view svg files, if you have any blur in the svg (for something like a drop shadow for example) firefox will not render the blur properly. I think you get the same shape and shade but with sharp edges, ie. no blur.

I read further down in this thread and I guess firefox is supporting SVG 1.1. I guess blur might be part of 1.2.
