Just my guess: try reinstalling cairo (and maybe libsvg and libsvg-cairo, if it complains) manually with the configure command: ./configure --prefix=/usr/bin Maybe your cairo is located in /usr/local/bin and cannot be found

Unfortunately Mdk10.1 can't install cairo at all as it has some newer parts of xorg missing, and cairo requires these.
Eventually I will probably upgrade to Mandriva 2007 when it comes out. I avoided 2005 and 2006 for stability reasons and on a 'if it ain't broke don't fix it basis'. Up till now almost everything I've installed has worked quite happily.
