[Inkscape-user] Box around text when exported as EPS

I'm trying to convert a bitmap of a logo to vector. Trace did a pretty good job, but some of the font serifs weren't quite right so I kept the rest of the image and then recreated the text using the text facility in Inkscape. It all looks fine, but when I export to EPS and then place that into pagemaker, etc. I'm left with a box around the text I created.

If I take the SVG file and open it in Illustrator it's fine. If I save as EPS in Illustrator, it's fine. Is this a bug in the EPS export facility in Inkscape or am I doing something wrong?
