Nice! Yes, that's better than using the Start menu, because if it's a file that's been named, you can ID right away. But even if it hasn't been saved yet, you can still find out!

I just did a bit of experimenting and found out that you can get some interesting information from Task Manager. Attached is a screenshot of what Task Manager shows if you have two instances of Inkscape open. First of all it tells you which file is open in each case. Secondly, if you do a right button click on Inkscape in each case, there is a menu item called 'Open File Location' which will tell you which directory that particular Inkscape version is in.
