I have personal die cutting machines, that I use for scrapbooking,  In

When I make a mat in Inkscape, I do my title, welding them if I want,
then I duplicate that word, and use outset to make a mat, thus creating
a rounded mat.  Is there a way in inkscape to do squared or mitered
cornered mats?
