[Inkscape-user] instalation problems or what?

Hi all, I'm new to the list, I try inkscape for the first time and have some problems:

first when I want to open a file create by sodipodi I have the following error message:

CRITICAL **: file system.cpp: line 74 (SPDocument* sp_module _system_open(const gchar*, const gchar*)): assertion `SP_IS_MODULE_INPUT(imod)' failed

second now when I want to save: Unable to find output module to handle file: /home/karen/test

I have install inkscape from rpm package (run under mdk10.0) and the installation seems OK, don't know if I miss something?
