
One problem with importing Inkscape SVG's into OO is that Inkscape SVG's are not standard SVG's. There is an option in Inkscape to save an SVG file as a "plain SVG file". Try doing that. you might be able to import the resulting SVG into OO.

Are you using OpenOffice Draw? SVG Import is available here: http://www.ipd.uka.de/~hauma/svg-import/
