A 2.5-year-old laptop with a 1.3GHz Centrino and 1.25Gb RAM. Not cutting edge, but not too feeble. I haven't compiled very much under Linux on it, but I've compiled a lot of Windows code on it. Compiling Inkscape from scratch was way longer than I expected. I looked at the system meter a couple of times and the CPU was maxed.
