[Inkscape-user] Why does Inkscape require dbus?

Hi all,

I just found out Inkscape has a dependency on dbus, and as a guy trying to minimize dbus use and eventually kick it off my computer, I have to ask why it's needed by Inkscape. Inkscape is a translator back and forth between an enhanced SVG XML and a hand drawing. What need is there for dbus?
