>From conversations in IRC, it looks like this is a compatibility issue
between different dot versions of Python 2.6. I built and installed my
Python modules with Python 2.6.9 from MacPorts. Snow Leopard comes with
Python 2.6.1.

The missing symbol referenced there was added in 2.6.5 rc1:
http://hg.python.org/cpython/rev/3bd6df11d1d6/

I'll revert my python26 version to 2.6.1 for compatibility with Snow Leopard
systems and rebuild.
