Doesn't seem to be there in the home directory.
Is it stored as a matter of routine, or only when Inkscape knows it's going down? What is the naming convention?
If it's an svg file it would sure be useful for it to be stored as .svg. That was my first global search to try and find it - recent files ending .svg.
[BTW I am using the latest version of Inkscape 0.42.2]

If such a file doesn't exist I'd like to suggest auto-recovery as a feature. Perhaps on restart, Inkscape could check to see if there's a record of an unclosed file, and notify the user where the corresponding backup file is stored.
At least in GNU/Linux is is stored in ~/ _without_ .svg extension IIRC.
