Hi!
How can I copy an object from one drawing file to the another one?
For example:
- I make draw1.svg, where one of the objects is a composite between a curve
and a triangle, each with it own customization.
- I start other project, draw2.svg, and I note that I need exactly the same
curve and triangle.
- I don't want to redraw them, I just want to copy from one to the another.
Right now, if I put "copy" in one document, and then "paste" in other, I get a "Nothing in the clipboard".
Cut-and-pasting works fine on my Inkscape 0.40pre2 under Debian GNU/Linux. It has done every since Sodipodi, IIRC.
I can't tell from your mailer whether you're using Windows or UN*X. Please clarify. Also try the following:
* Cut-and-paste from Inkscape to other applications. * Cut-and-paste from other applcations to Inkscape. * Cut-and-paste other types of object (e.g. text, raster images).
There may be a clipboard icon in your system tray. That may link to diagnostic information.
Caveat: Should be two windows of the same instance of inkscape; it may not work between instances. Open both files from within inkscape (i.e File>Open) will ensure both windows are from the same instance.
