I've been using icewm for a window manager, and it clashes horribly with (among other things) alt-clicking in Inkscape. Understandably, this makes working with Inkscape incredibly difficult.
Every WM with all configurable shortcuts should do, but I guess the key for window manipulations might still be hard-coded in some.
*nod* I looked for a way to change the configuration for icewm, and didn't find anything. (My problem is partly because I'm new to open source, and my husband (editor-in-chief of Linux Gazette) is partial to very basic window managers as well as not really doing much in the way of mouse-based interaction.
Metacity allows selection of a "Movement Key" among Control, Alt, Super (Windows key). I picked the last as that makes obvious sense and doesn't clash with aynthing ;)
Thanks for the tip, I've just installed it and am about to give that a whirl.
