I'm trying to draw a spherical gas-storage tank.
In my imagination it looks like a sphere with a cup on the bottom (like an huge ice-cream cone). I wanted to make a warren-truss style girder (two bars with 'W's between) and then have it to appear to 'bend' it around the girth of the curvature of the tank to emphasise the roundness of it.
What I'm trying to do is 'stretch' a shape (made of verticies)
A really great way I thought of doing this, was if you could put a "shape on a path" just like you do with text. Then I could just draw a straight girder, then put it on a curved path to deform it to the curve needed.
Can you put formulae in the matrix transform dialogue? I tried a few sines and cosines, but it didn't play.
