I just started using inkscape. It seems very good, but I want to draw in white. How do i get the background (alpha channel) to be displayed in another colour?
thanks, pete. Pretty sure you can change the page colour. Look in the page settings. Alternatively, make a new layer, draw a rectangle in your colour, lock it and then draw on a layer above that.
I believe it's File->Document Properties, then on the 'Page' tab click on the background and set the colour.
I don't think this will stick as the default the next time you run Inkscape, but maybe there's a config setting that will make it stick as default?
