I'm guessing it's a monitor problem, not an Inkscape zoom problem, but just in case... You know you can zoom in Inkscape with Ctrl+Scrollwheel, right?
It's a problem with the toolbars. They are not standard GTK+ toolbars. Once things are switched over, then they'll resize smaller correctly.
