Hi Friends, Lately I've been attempting to use the Scatter extension to create a pattern along path type of effect, on curved lines. I use Scatter because it creates very little distortion while pap creates a lot of distortion around even mild curves. But there is something about the Scatter extension that doesn't work so well, and that's the offsets. Maybe it's because they are curves, that sometimes the normal offset behaves more like tangential, and vice versa. In any case, I'm trying to come up with some way to use it more effectively on curved lines, and I thought, if only there were some way to measure the curved lines, I could set the size of the pattern units, so patterned path perfectly fits the path (in whole pattern units). Of course I could make the calculations on something like a circle, because either I can remember the formula or look it up. I don't know any easy way to measure randomly curved paths in Inkscape. But I'm sure I'm not the only one who has run into this problem. I wonder if anyone has found any effective approach to this problem? I'd appreciate if you could share any tips!
Thank you very much, brynn
