Dashed rectangle
I guess I have clicked something I shouldnt have!
After having used the shapes tools (star, rectangle and circle) for a while, something happens so I only get a dashed rectangle instead of the shape. What have I done?

Sounds like you have the option for the type of line in the fill and stroke dialog changed to something other than a solid line.

Perhaps (just guessing) what you mean is that the object is invisible and what you see is just the selection rectangle. This was discussed here some time ago. Please read these messages:
