Does Inkscape support SVG Fonts embedded within SVG documents? Has anyone created SVG Fonts with Inkscape? Is there any interest in an opens source SVG Font Library?

Not yet. We'd like to do it in principle, but nobody's gotten around to doing it yet, and we're still working out a lot of issues with non-SVG fonts anyway.
