Changing page size default from A4 to US Letter
Hello,
Is there a configuration file or preferences location to change the default startup page size of A4 to US Letter (or any other format)? I've looked through the wiki and version .44 preferences without any success. I know that it will save the page, once changed, with the document that you save. But, I was hoping to find a way to change the default when the application is launched. I tend to forget that it uses A4 by default and would prefer to change it globally.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Just change your default template, ~/.inkscape/templates/default.svg (create it as an empty document if it does not exist yet).

You can change the default template simply by changing default.svg file in templates directory. The file is located uder /usr/share/inkscape/templates (on Unix/linux) or c:/program files/inkscape/share/templates as default.optionaly-your-lang-code.svg. If you open this file, change its dimensions and/or other settings and save to the same location with the same name. Next time you launch Inkscape it will use this default.svg. There is already Letter.svg in that directory so perhaps simple rename to default.svg of it could be enough to make this change too.
