I downloaded inkscape200711070317 and ran the autopackage installer.
Keep running into dependency problems. Whereinheck do I get libMagick++.so.9?
I thought maybe it was part of ImageMagick, so I downloaded and Compiled it (I am on Slackware 12.0), but no dice. If sombody could point me to the source code or a slackware package, I'd appreciate it.

Further update, turns out the ImageMagick compile did install libMagick++.so.10. So...why can't Inkscape see it? What am I doing wrong?

If Inkscape is looking for libMagick++.so.9, but you have .10, then it won't find what it is looking for (U2 song now stuck in my head...)

Yes, it need a specific version of the library. But don't get optimistic, even if you solve that dependency, it will fail on other (libwand, libtiff, libjasper, etc.) The autopackage builds are *broken* for quite some time.

Compiling from sources may be your only solution, see "Source Code Packages" on http://inkscape.org/download/?lang=en
So it is dependent on a specific package, it isn't a ">=" type situation with regard tothe version?
