Scaling problems when printing with 0.41_1
Hi,
I'm using linux operating system, suse9.2 distro, I started with inkscape with the version inkscape-0.40-1.static.i686.rpm and everthing worked fine but when I updated to
inkscape-0.41-1.static.i686.rpm
The printings, in bitmap postscript, of my previous, and new documents (A4, landscape) are no longer good. What seems to happen is that the drawing is scaled up and does not completely fits in the page.
Thanks,
António Tomé.
P.s. In spite of this "minor problem" (my temporarily solution was to downgrade) this is a very nice piece of utility. Many thanks to its creators.

I believe that the issue is because pixel sizes were corrected between those versions (due to needing to be correct on the SVG spec). If I recall correctly, you can rescale them by decreasing the values of width and height by 25% for the incorrectly sized bitmaps. Basically, it's a fixed amount that it is off by and whatever it is (as I said I believe it's off by 25%), the problem will be corrected.
Another solution would be to change the 'units' under document preferences to the correct unit type used by the bitmaps (if it's set to "pt" it should be "px", or vice versa... again I don't remember the details). It's not that anything is broken, if anything something that wasn't right is now fixed. Hopefully this helps more than it confuses.

That's strange because this happens also with new drawings! Not only old ones.

This worked. But it's a bit awkward. I select all the drawing, scale it .75 and then put it in the up left corner of the canvas. The printing was ok. Although in the screen the drawing is only in the upper left corner of the canvas.

This solution seems not to work! because whenever I change the canvas units to something other than pt. That changes has no effect the default keeps being the pt (the pt is always selected as canvas size under the document preferences, it seems to accept the change but whenever I choose the document preference the pt is always selected as canvas unit) .

Many thanks At least now i have a workaround to print my drawings,
António
P.s If I choose to print using postscript operators everthing works fine in respect to the drawing dimensions. Unfortunately this option is not always possible with my drawings since that are many elements which are not printed.
