Problem installing and running latest developer's release

Hello all...
For the last few weeks I have been trying to install the latest autopackaged version of the Inkscape developer's release (which I think is from September 24) on my machine. While it seems to install correctly, attempting to run it starts the loading process but never actually loads the application.
I've tried running it on Xandros, Mepis and Kubuntu and I get the same problem.
The 42.2 release, on the other hand, installs and loads just fine.
I'm not sure if there's a logfile that might have more information about the problem, so I wanted to report the problem first and see if any of you have suggestions as to how I might get you more useful data.

I appoligise that I haven't been very dependable with fresh autopackages lately. I expect a slight machine upgrade soon. Hopefully compiling won't be so painful then.
It seems that I've screwed something up since the 42.2 release. I would very much appreciate some help tracking this down. The autopackage runs perfectly on my Ubuntu box, so it isn't immediately visible to me what is broken. You may be able to see more information by running Inkscape from a shell, or even with gdb.
I'd also like to get people on as many different distributions as possible to test the autopackages, so that I can avoid all the little packaging bugs I ran into last time.

I'm running Kubuntu right now, and I opened a terminal window and typed "inkscape" -- this is the response I got:
inkscape: error while loading shared libraries: libsigc-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Hope that helps some. Doesn't mean a whole lot to me.

I guess there's an error in the build environment: that library should be statically linked.
This seems to keep happening. Probably, we should build some post-build sanity checking into autopackage so mistakes like this one are picked up quickly.
thanks -mike

Well I'm not sure how I might have screwed up. I've got "sigc-2.0" in APBUILD_STATIC just like before (does order matter?). And when I run the needed command libsigc isn't mentioned.

Please try the latest autopackage build.

Seems to install fine on Mdk10.1 (previous ones didn't). However when running from a terminal window I see the message: inkscape: /usr/bin/../lib/libpng12.so.0: no version information available (required by inkscape)
This doesn't seem to affect the way inkscape works though.
Nice to see the font size problem resolved.

Oh great. Thanks. I know you have a really slow connection, but if you want the next build I made should solve the libpng warning. It can be found in the same directory. And yes the libpng warning is just cosmetic (so I've been told).

I'll try that tomorrow :)

It works! Loads without any problems at all.
