Hi Ken,

It's likely that was a font which was installed on your older system after the fact. Inkscape does not come with fonts but uses the fonts already installed on your system.

You can get the Venus Rising font from dafont for free I think - download that and install, then restart Inkscape and you will probably have the font in the list of fonts then.

The fonts available on your computer have nothing to do with the inkscape version installed. Check which fonts you have installed on your computer. Go to directory C:/Windows/Fonts (for a windows operating system) to see the fonts installed. If you are missing a font on your new computer get it from somwhere and install it on your system. Afterwards it should be available in inkscape as well.
