Is there a command to eliminate overlaps in paths (especially calligraphy paths), i.e. to create a path that is just the outside of a particular path? I can sort-of achieve this effect by drawing an overlapping path and unioning the two, but I would like to be able to do this without the extra 'helper' path.

www.openclipart.org has a vast collection of nearly all the flags in the world.
