Drag the Inkscape icon into your applications folder, as the arrow indicates.

Thanks, Maren.
I have Inkscape 0.92.2 on my iMac now. When I run it I do not get the user interface that I see in all of the help sources.
All I get is the following window.
The applications button opens my applications folder and the Inkscape button does not do anything that I can see. All I want to accomplish is to edit the text in some existing PDF documents but without the interface I can't load the file. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks David

Hi David,
at https://inkscape.org/release/inkscape-1.1.1/ there is a list on the right where you can click through to see previous versions and their macOS requirements.

Is there an older version that I can download for my computer?
I have a Mac with OS X Yosemite V 10.10.5.
The version of Inkscape is 1.1.1 and will not load on my older OS.
