Inkscape is a wonderful software. Using it to develop vector graphics is a breeze.
I have prepared one inkscape SVG file which is of A3 size for the purpose of a wall poster. I wanted to get it printed. So, I was exporting it to PNG format with 600 dpi. (Please let me know of any other approach to print SVG file with good resolution)
Inkscape took a lot of time for exporting it. In the process, I was getting some warning messages in the shell in which I ran inscape. The error messages were like
** (inkscape:20742): WARNING **: 249003000 bytes requested for pixel buffer, I won't try to allocate that.
The SVG file has a large rectangle as background spanning almost the entire A3 size with some linear gradient. I suspected that the above warning is because of this large rectangle which turned out to be true when I saw the resulting PNG file. The large rectangle was having only the border and no gradient inside it.
Kindly somebody suggest an approach to be followed exporting this SVG file.
Thanks in advance.

This error as well as export slowness are fixed in SVN version. Download a recent build and it should work.
the png problem is fixed in SVN as Bulya mentioned.
But for printing I wonder why you don't try to use the "Print dialogue" and print the file directly? Also, if that doesn't work, try exporting PDF, which is a much better format for printing vector data than PNG:

Thanks a lot. I'll install and use the SVN version.

True that PS or PDF would be better for printing. But, I faced two problems with PS and PDF. One, was that PS or PDF generated by inkscape was not properly getting rendered in kghostview/kpdf do to some problems in those viewers. Two, the local poster publishing people had some old Acrobat Reader which was giving problems when I used some things like transparency, etc. Of course, these are not related to inkscape directly.
So, I was getting a high resolution (600dpi) PNG for printing.
