Hi,
I've used Inkscape for a couple of weeks now mostly for drawing diagrams, and I've noticed some bugs also mentioned in the Wiki: http://wiki.inkscape.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?UsingTheConnectorTool, hence I've not posted any bugreports.
However, I'd like to know when they're likely to be fixed.
The main issues for me are: 1) Draw connectors to shape edges rather than bounding box. (Quite annoying when using connectors with circles) 2) Fix minor endpoint position error for connected objects. (The arrow points inside the edge of the box, rather than to the edge)
These issues makes it impossible for me to use Inkscape in a production environment, which I'd like to do since it's a great tool.
Best regards,
/Kenneth

One of the principles of inkscape development work is not to set any date. Please keep in mind there is no full-time work, no pay, and only scarce help from the user community.
Also, the connector tool is freshly introduced so you have to expect loose ends for some time, except if Michael can get additional help with his great work he already did.
These issues makes it impossible for me to use Inkscape in a production environment, which I'd like to do since it's a great tool.
If you suddenly use inkscape in a production environment I would think it wiser to go back to what you used before, and switch only when the features you rely on are more mature. Remember, this is version 0.42 and beta software.

Ok, I was mostly wondering if these problems would be fixed in 0.43.
No, I'm not using Inkscape in production environment, but I would do so if the issues I mentioned was fixed. Then I'd have 20 developers use Inkscape for diagrams and smaller illustrations instead of Word/Powerpoint/Illustrator.
Inkscape and SVG works great together with our DocBook environment. Instead of including ugly looking png/jpeg diagrams we could include nice looking and scalable SVG-diagrams.
Tried using Dia, but it creates ugly diagrams.
Best regards

0.43 is in feature-freeze stage, which means no further features will be added. Will these things be done for 0.44? I sure hope so but it depends on how much free time will be available to work on it, and with holidays and such coming up, it's difficult to say with certainty if it'll be done. There's definitely a lot of interest in this having feature though.

Could you try to get your mailer set to only send plain text, and not HTML?
Aside from all the other issues, the generator you're using is setting HTML font sizes that may look OK on Outlook, but are fairly small on other systems (or on systems with higher resolutions). On my main system, for example, your mail comes out almost completely unreadable.
