from the autopackage site http://autopackage.org/faq.html#6_8
# Is autopackage cross-platform?
No, right now it only works on x86 and x86-64. We may support non-x86 in the future, but right now we don't. There is some basic support in the code, eg we check that the platform being used is actually x86. We're keeping an eye on LLVM, which would make it possible to ship binaries in a compact bytecode form that is compiled to native code at install time. Right now the technology isn't mature enough and there is too little developer interest.
I don't know if that means our packages would work on amd64 or not. But I do know they have only been tested on x86 and that I only have x86 equiptment to make them with. Perhaps Mike would have more to say.

If you use a bi-arch distro and have the right 32 bit libraries installed then it should work correctly. If you use a non-biarch distro like Debian or a derivative then no, they will not work, because you are effectively running on a minority architecture not many people use (same as why there are no SPARC autopackages ....)
