does anyone know if it's possible to get the "URW Chancery L" font loaded in winxp? this font is loaded on my ubuntu 7.04, opensuse 10.1 and 10.2 systems. from what i can tell it's a ghostscript font of some kind. i don't think it's a truetype font.
btw, i have ghostscript installed on windows, if that does any good.
thank-you,
heathenx
ps. shame on me for using a non-truetype font. live and learn.

ok, i somewhat answered my own question. i found on my windows system a font called "ITC Zapf Chancery". I'm not sure where this font came from but I have noticed that the ITC and URW chancery font are pretty much interchangeable. i'm going to switch to the ITC font since it's a truetype font. perhaps this font got installed when i installed inkscape...hmm.
thanks anyway,
heathenx

Tastes (and experiences) differ. I always use a Type 1 font. If your software and/or OS can't handle Type 1 fonts then they are deficient and need to be replaced.
Inkscape runs under Linux, although installation can be a bear. Suggest you run it on the superior platform, and not xp.
