Hi - first time poster here.
I'm relatively new to SVG and I'm having a little trouble. :)
I'm multi-selecting and copying paths from the world map I've downloaded from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:BlankMap-World.svg . Each path seems to be separate, hence the multi-select. Then I paste the selected paths (say for Spain) and try to combine them. They appear to be combined, but I'm unable to get a proper interior fill on the resulting object. That is it seems the fill is still acting on individual paths. I've tried joining selected segments, grouping, everything I can think of, but to no avail.
If you look at the small attached example, you'll see what I mean! I'm sure from that you'll see what I'm trying to do. Maybe it's something simple, but I'm baffled.
Any help would be gratefully received. Cheers, Brendan Quigley
Use 'join selected end nodes' with the 'edit path nodes' selector ( F2). Sweep over the whole piece and click the icon for 'join selected end nodes', all done. Good luck Dan On Jul 24, 2006, at 11:09 AM, Brendan Quigley wrote:

Cheers Dan!
I had tried that, but couldn't get it working. But after your advice I tried again, but only selecting two nodes at a time - and that worked fine. I can't get it working when I've selected all the nodes, which might or might not pose a problem for a country with a hugely complicated border :).
Should have said what version I'm on too - 0.44, though I think it's in the XML.
Thanks again! Brendan
