triangulated hexagons and stars
I'm trying to make a six-pointed star, where each of the spokes is made up of a different colored triangle, and the hexagonal body is made up of another six, differently colored triangles. It should look like a quilt. Obviously, I need a dozen equilateral triangles, all carefully aligned and oriented, but I haven't figured out how to achieve this. I can make a triangle, but I don't know to go further than that.

1 create a triangle by the star tool, dragging with Ctrl so that its bottom side is strictly horizontal
2 edit/tile clones, Reset, P3M1 symmetry, 3 rows 6 columns, Create
3 delete original triangle, select and delete the 6 extra triangles at edges
4 select the remaining triangles and paint them any color you like
